On February 8th, SMUT Press hosted the third edition of Club SMUT, transforming a rum distillery in Tottenham’s industrial outskirts into a high-energy, immersive space for music, art, and community. Selling out within just 48 hours, the night stretched from 5 PM to 5 AM, drawing a crowd eager to experience SMUT’s signature fusion of sound, visuals, and queer expression.
Headlined by Byron Yeates, alongside Bethan, LO-LOW, and Marie Malarie, the lineup delivered an electrifying soundtrack that pulsed through the venue’s raw industrial setting. As always, set design played a key role in shaping the atmosphere—co-founder Jack Scollard crafted a striking papier-mâché anal bead butt plug, suspended from the ceiling as a playful yet subversive centerpiece. The space was further bathed in the signature red glow of SMUT’s signature lightbulbs, casting a seductive haze over the dancefloor.
Beyond the music and visuals, community care remained central to the night’s ethos. GMI Partnership was present early in the evening, offering mobile STI testing to promote sexual health awareness and harm reduction.
With energy still buzzing from this edition, we’re already looking ahead to the next Club SMUT in mid-July, once again returning to the same Tottenham venue. Stay tuned for more details.
